COO Appointment, New Member of the BoD Mr. Ilias Papadopoulos

Stopanska Banka AD – Skopje is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ilias Papadopoulos as the Bank’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Member of the Board of Directors. This is a newly established position on the Board, reflecting the Bank’s strategic focus on reinforcing operational excellence at the highest level. Mr. Papadopoulos successfully completed the licensing procedure with the Central Bank as of 27 October.

With over two decades of executive experience in banking, Mr. Papadopoulos brings deep expertise across credit risk management, corporate and retail banking, and internal audit. He has served as Chief Credit Officer and member of the Executive Committee at Stopanska Banka, where he played important role in shaping the Bank’s risk appetite, credit strategy, and operational resilience.

Mr. Papadopoulos holds an MA in Finance and Investment from the University of Exeter, UK and a BA in Economics from the University of Greenwich, UK.

As COO, Mr. Papadopoulos will oversee key operational divisions, including IT, Payment Operations, Loan Administration, Business Process and Organization, and Administrative Support. His mandate includes driving the Bank’s operational transformation model, focusing on modernization, innovation, and regulatory alignment ensuring operational excellence across all channels.

This latest appointment reflects the Banks’ commitment to strengthening its leadership team and aligning its operations with the highest standards of governance, innovation, and customer service - a focus that will remain a priority in the period ahead.
