PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
Changes to accounts status
 

Stopanska Banka AD – Skopje is publicly notifying the consumers, who are users of payment services, regarding the possibility of changing the status of their payment and deposit accounts into inactive accounts*.

  1. Consumers can check the accounts that may be granted the inactive account status through the account search tool published on the website of Stopanska Banka AD – Skopje on 24.11.2023, with the entry of one of the following parameters: Citizen identification number (EMBG), ID number in the bank, account number, number of term deposit. The account search tool will be active within 1 month of publication, concluded on December 24, 2023.
  2. If consumers or persons authorized to operate their accounts or their legal representatives, within one month, as deemed by the publication of the notification referred to in point 1 of this announcement, do not make an inflow or an outflow payment transaction or make a documented written, electronic and/or recorded telephone communication regarding the accounts, the accounts will change their status and be marked as inactive.
  3. Changing the status of the account will not reduce the balance or prevent access to funds.
  4. If the balance of the payment account is equal to zero at the moment in which the account is marked as inactive, provided that the payment account is not blocked, it will be closed.
  5. Stopanska banka AD - Skopje, after the expiration of the period from point 2 of this announcement and if the accounts, in the meantime, have not been activated in accordance with point 2 of this announcement, will unilaterally terminate the framework agreements with consumers if, in an uninterrupted period of 24 months, all their payment accounts have balance zero.
  6. Stopanska banka AD – Skopje, 2 months after the publication of this announcement, and if in the meantime the accounts haven’t regained their active status in accordance to the statement specified in point 2 of this announcement, will unilaterally terminate the framework agreements with consumers who have payment accounts with balance zero at the moment in which the account was marked as inactive, and also with consumers with payment accounts which have balance zero for a continuous period of 24 months.

*In accordance with the Law on Payment Services and Payment Systems (Official Gazette of Republic of North Macedonia -90/2022), an inactive account is:

 

  1. A consumer's payment account with a payment service provider to which outflow payment transactions authorized by the consumer or inflow payment transactions have not been made continuously for a period of at least 24 months, excluding calculation and payment/collection of interest, and/or any other payment transactions made in favor of the payment service provider or in respect of which the payment service provider did not have with the consumer or a person authorised to manage the payment account or his legal representative documented written, electronic and/or recorded telephone communication,  or

 

  1. A deposit account for which the payment service provider did not have a written, electronic and/or recorded telephone communication with the consumer or a person authorized to manage the account or his legal representative for a continuous period of at least 10 (ten) years
