Stopanska banka AD

In December 2004, STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE will celebrate sixty years of its operations. STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE is the oldest and according to many criteria the largest bank in the Republic of Macedonia , established by a Decision of the Second Special Meeting of the Antifascist Assembly of the National Liberation Movement of Macedonia held on 29 December 1944 under the name of Makedonska Stopanska Banka.

Starting from the distant 1944, under conditions of a devastated, war-ruined and underdeveloped agricultural country, Makedonska Stopanska Banka grew into a

modern bank of universal type. In the past few decades, STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE has made a large contribution to the economic development and banking in the country. Almost every built plant, reconstruction and modernization in the country has been supported by credit facilities of STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE. Therefore, STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE is recognized everywhere - in factory workshops, residential and administration buildings, in fields where corn ears are formed and bread produced, in fields where tobacco is grown, in vineyards, in wineries, orchards, greenhouses, manufacturing plants where the fruits of this pleasant and generous climate are finalized. A number of commercial banks "grew" from STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE, and their staff contributes to the entire banking in the country.

During its six-decade existence, STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE has undergone numerous reforms and transitions, and always strengthened the reputation and trust in the country and worldwide.

Nowadays, STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE operates as a joint-stock company managed by its shareholders.

At the beginning of the new millennium, STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE was completely privatised with the entry of well-known foreign strategic investors, notably: the National Bank of Greece (NBG), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). By the implementation of the Privatisation Project, which means a new phase of its development, STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE has kept its name, legal identity and continuity in banking activities, and with the new reorganization and reconstruction, it will be transformed into a modern bank that will meet the new challenges and requirements of the market economy and regional cooperation on a wider scale.

STOPANSKA BANKA AD-SKOPJE was and will remain the bearer of the progressive trends in the economic sector and banking.
